What does AI supply for us

In this ICT course, I delved deeply into the knowledge of Digital Literacies and Artificial Intelligence, and applied tools such as TalkPersona, WondaVR, Diffit and Magic Al through practical exercises. These tools not only broadened my technical horizons but also gave me a deeper understanding of the integration of digital literacy and AI. Here are my reflections: 

TalkPersona: Enhancing Communication and Expression

TalkPersona made me realize that in the digital age, effective communication is not just about language expression but also about how to utilize AI tools to optimize information delivery. Through simulated conversations, I learned how to express complex technical concepts more clearly and also became aware of the potential of AI in personalized communication. 

WondaVR: The Value of Immersive Learning

The immersive experience provided by WondaVR has enabled me to appreciate the unique advantages of virtual reality in education. Through VR technology, abstract concepts become intuitive and easy to understand. This makes me reflect that future learning methods may rely more on immersive technologies, and the cultivation of digital literacy should also include the mastery of VR/AR technologies. 

Diffit: Data-driven Decision-making

Diffit enabled me to experience the significance of data analysis in decision-making. By comparing different datasets, I learned how to extract valuable information from data and make more informed judgments based on it. This made me realize that digital literacy is not only about technical operations but also about cultivating data thinking and analytical skills. 

Magic AI: The Creativity and Limitations of AI

Magic AI has demonstrated the powerful capabilities of AI in content generation, but it has also made me aware of its limitations. Although AI can quickly generate text, images, and other content, the depth and uniqueness of its creativity still cannot fully replace that of humans. This makes me reflect that future digital literacy education should focus on cultivating the ability of humans to collaborate with AI, rather than relying solely on AI. 

Summary

Through this course, I have deeply realized the significance of digital literacy and AI technology. Future education not only requires students to master technical tools but also to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to collaborate with AI. The application of these tools has filled me with anticipation for the future of digital learning and also made me aware of the importance of continuous learning and adapting to new technologies.

This Week’s Learning Reflection: Using Voki, Quizlet, and Kahoot in English Teaching

This week in my TESOL studies, I explored several interesting educational tools: Voki, Quizlet, and Kahoot . These platforms can make English lessons more interactive and are especially useful for increasing students’ motivation. However, while using them, I also noticed some drawbacks. Here, I’d like to share my thoughts and reflections How Do These Tools Help Students Learn? Voki – This tool allows users to create animated avatars that can “speak.” Teachers can use it to record dialogues or stories, and students can create their own characters to practice speaking.  In this week's TESOL lesson, I have thought about how to use information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance students' self-directed learning. Student autonomy, i.e. their ability to self-direct and regulate their learning, is the key to success in linguistics.
