What does AI supply for us

In this ICT course, I delved deeply into the knowledge of Digital Literacies and Artificial Intelligence, and applied tools such as TalkPersona, WondaVR, Diffit and Magic Al through practical exercises. These tools not only broadened my technical horizons but also gave me a deeper understanding of the integration of digital literacy and AI. Here are my reflections:  TalkPersona: Enhancing Communication and Expression TalkPersona made me realize that in the digital age, effective communication is not just about language expression but also about how to utilize AI tools to optimize information delivery. Through simulated conversations, I learned how to express complex technical concepts more clearly and also became aware of the potential of AI in personalized communication.  WondaVR: The Value of Immersive Learning The immersive experience provided by WondaVR has enabled me to appreciate the unique advantages of virtual reality in education. Through VR technology, abstract conce...

Exploring Speaking Skills with Chatbots and Virtual Reality in future English teaching🇬🇧

Image
This week in my ICT course, we explored the intersection of Speaking Skills, Chatbots, and Virtual Reality (VR) in language teaching. The highlight of the session was experiencing VR technology in action , which provided a hands-on understanding of its potential in TESOL classrooms. VR and Chatbots: Transforming Speaking Practice Both VR and AI-driven chatbots offer innovative ways to engage students in authentic, immersive language learning experiences . VR can simulate real-life scenarios, allowing learners to practice English in a controlled yet realistic environment —whether it’s ordering food in a restaurant or navigating an airport. Meanwhile, chatbots can serve as interactive speaking partners , offering instant feedback, unlimited practice opportunities, and reduced anxiety for learners who may feel self-conscious speaking in front of others. Reflection: The Role of Technology in Language Learning As a TESOL student and future IELTS instructor, I see immense potentia...

Reflections on Online Collaborative Writing in ICT Class❤️

In this week‘s ICT class, we engaged in an online collaborative writing activity that allowed us to explore different digital tools for teamwork. The process was structured into multiple stages, from brainstorming to drafting and editing, with clearly defined roles for each participant. Here, I’ll share my reflections on the experience, the benefits and challenges of collaborative writing, and its potential application in my future teaching. The Collaborative Writing Process Our task began with forming small groups (three to four members), where we sat together and selected an online collaboration tool for brainstorming. Each group member took on a specific role: Encourager and brainstormer – facilitated idea generation. First drafter – wrote the initial draft.           Editor and spell checker – refined language and corrected errors. Fact checker – ensured accuracy and credibility of information. After brainsto...

How to inspire the autonomy (with some tools)

Image
In this week's TESOL lesson, I have thought about how to use information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance students' self-directed learning. Student autonomy, i.e. their ability to self-direct and regulate their learning, is the key to success in linguistics. The right digital tools can effectively facilitate this autonomy.  And it is really important for my English learning.😇 Busuu❤ Busuu, for example, is a popular linguistics app that helps students apply what they have learned in a real-world context by providing structured lessons, grammar practice and opportunities to communicate with native speakers. However, Busuu's curriculum is designed to be relatively fixed, which may limit students' flexibility to learn according to their individual needs. Lyrics  training 💜 In contrast, Lyric Training fills in the blanks with music lyrics to make the learning process more interesting, stimulate students' interest in learning, and help improve listening an...
